Description

Ascorbic Acid 2-Glucoside is a natural Vitamin C, containing glucose-stable ingredients. It is a powerful antioxidant that can combat the damaging effects of free radicals caused by exposure to environmental toxins such as UV rays and pollutants, with good formulation stability. It helps inhibit discoloration and degradation. It is used for whitening and brightening the skin and boosting collagen production.

Ascorbyl glucoside can effectively inhibit formation of melanin, dilute the skin color, reduce age spots and freckles pigmentation.
When creams and lotions containing Ascorbic Acid 2-Glucoside(AA-2G) are applied to the skin, an enzyme present in the skin, a-glucosidase, acts on the Ascorbic Acid 2-Glucoside(AA2G) to slowly release the healthful benefits of vitamin C.
Ascorbic Acid 2-Glucoside(AA-2G) was originally developed as a quasi-drug cosmetic product in Japan to lighten the overall tone of the skin and reduce the pigmentation in age spots and freckles. Further research has shown other dramatic benefits and today AA-2G is used  not only for whitening but also for brightening dull looking skin, reversing the effects of aging, and in sunscreen products for protection.

Ascorbyl Glucoside may be used in formulations to be used on the skin at concentrations up to 5% (in face and neck skin care preparations) and may come in contact with the eyes during use of eye creams or serum (highest reported maximum use concentration of 2% in eye lotions).
