Description

Gamma-oryzanol is a group of chemicals found in rice bran oil. It is also found in wheat bran.
It is an anti-oxidant used in age spot or whitening products and prevents freckles. oryzanol inhibits melanin synthesis in two ways: by inhibiting tyrosinase enzyme activity and by reducing the expression of microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (mitf).  mitf controls the expression of various genes that are essential for melanin synthesis in melanocytes, so suppressing it results in a lightened skin tone.

It helps reduce skin darkening from UV exposure (sun), gamma-oryzanol activates sebum glands, and it can be used for alleviating various conditions causing dry skin, and atopic dermatitis resulting in thicker and smoother skin, It can also be used for treating hair loss as it promotes hair follicle proliferation and secretion of growth factors.
