Description
Silica Dimethyl Silylate appears as a loose white powder that is added to cosmetic and skin care products in order to increase their thickness. Hydrophobic fumed silica thickens oils, polyols and suspends particles in oils. It is highly absorbent and upon mixing with oils, it creates a gel-like substance that can be easily applied without feeling sticky or oily, Forms transparent gels in oils (e.g. mineral oil, castor oil, plant oils).
Silica Dimethyl Silylate is used as an anti-caking agent for cosmetics and improves the overall look and feel of the products. It is a great powder for bulking your products as well as adding some slip.
It is basically a special grade of silica that is treated with Dimethyl Silylate.
