Description
Potassium sorbate is the potassium salt of sorbic acid. It dissolves in water, and converts to sorbic acid. It is a common preservative used to inhibit molds and yeasts in different types of packaged foods and cosmetics.
It is also sensitive to UV light and may turn yellow in solution.
Combining it with mixed tocopherol and gluconolactone will help increase the stability and reduce discoloration of potassium sorbate, may be useful in stabilizing sorbic acid in the water phase of a product.
Usage Rate: 0.1-0.3%

Add to the water phase of formulations at a temperature below 60°C, If adding to the cool down phase of an emulsion, Dissolving potassium sorbate in a portion of the water phase will make it easier to incorporate in cool down phase.
