Quaternium-80 is a cationic silicone polymer, conditioning agent and also an antibacterial and can help preserve the formulations. It is also a lightweight ingredient that is soluble in water,  made from coconut oil and is a quaternary salt of ammonium.
It has hydrating and conditioning properties that highly benefit the skin and hair with anti static effects. It also gives gloss to the shafts and creates a water-repellent surface that prevents any form of buildup on the hair or the scalp. Improves the combability, gloss, and manageability of hair, and provides color retention. In skin care products it performs as an emollient, a slip aid, and imparts a smooth feel.  It can mostly be found in conditioning products like shampoos, conditioners, creams and moisturizers
