D Alpha tocopherol is a strong antioxidant, great for stabilizing formulas that contain actives like retinol, l ascorbic acid, kojic acid, oils and butter. vitamin E is known to be a fat-soluble antioxidant that has the capability to neutralize endogenous free radicals. It may also help protect skin from ultraviolet irradiation.

This contains only d alpha tocopherol isomers present in vitamin E, there are four isomers present in Vitamin E, alpha tocopherol, beta tocopherol, gamma tocopherols and delta tocopherol.
Vitamin E is  used in skin creams and lotions as it is believed to play a role in encouraging skin healing and reducing scarring after injuries such as burns.
